Welfare & Pastoral Care Pillar
At FRAM School, safeguarding is our highest responsibility. We work actively to create a safe, secure, and nurturing environment where every child is protected from harm, neglect, abuse, discrimination, and unsafe situations. Safeguarding is a shared duty across our school — teachers, leaders, support staff, families, and students each play a vital role in keeping our community safe.
How We Support Children Daily
We follow national Romanian child protection laws and international frameworks (including the UNCRC), and we work closely with child protection services, health authorities, and law enforcement when needed.
Our safeguarding system includes:
Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) with full oversight of cases
Clear reporting routes for concerns, disclosures, or allegations
Regular staff training in child protection, preventing harm, and recognising early signs of distress
Confidential, secure record keeping following GDPR requirements
Partnerships with external agencies to ensure rapid and effective intervention
Health & Safety
Children’s safety is part of every moment of school life at FRAM. Our campus is secured and carefully supervised, with clear access procedures and well-established emergency routines that are practised through regular drills. Staff are trained to provide first aid and respond quickly to medical needs, while hygiene, wellbeing education and safe daily routines help prevent avoidable risks.
Child Protection Procedures
When a concern is raised, we respond immediately, professionally and with great care. Every disclosure or worry is treated seriously, recorded accurately and handled by trained safeguarding staff who follow established child protection procedures. Cases are assessed promptly and sensitively, and appropriate action is taken to ensure the child’s safety and wellbeing. Children are always encouraged to speak openly, knowing they will be listened to, respected and fully protected throughout the process.
The Pillars are the three core structures that organise learning and school life at FRAM: the Academic Pillar, the Skills & Events Pillar, and the Welfare & Pastoral Care Pillar. Together, they ensure that every child receives a balanced, holistic experience that supports academic growth, personal development, emotional wellbeing, and real-world skills.
The Welfare & Pastoral Care Pillar is the structure that supports children’s emotional, social and physical wellbeing throughout the school day. It focuses on creating a safe, caring and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and understood
Although each Pillar has its own area of focus, they collaborate closely to create a unified approach to education. The Academic Pillar sets learning goals, the Skills & Events Pillar enriches them through practical experiences, and the Welfare & Pastoral Care Pillar ensures that children feel safe, supported, and emotionally ready to learn. Their teamwork provides a seamless and meaningful school experience.
